Laughter is Great Medicine!

On Tuesday nights we have our small group bible study. We usually meet every week and discuss a bible study or the Sunday sermon.  Since summer, we have not been meeting much because of summer activities such as camp and softball.  Oh and our hosts have their daughter getting married on the 30th.

Sunday we decided that everyone was free Tuesday night this week so we got together to catch up.  No pressure, just catching up and having fun.  We spent the evening laughing our heads off! We had all kinds of funny stories from church camp and got on the topic of marriage licenses.  It is pretty funny to hear that someone had their license returned for the minister not signing it or it never got filed in the first place. It was about an hour and half of random catching up and story-telling.

It reminded me about our marriage license.  My uncle was supposed to mail it into the courthouse, but my aunt ended up mailing it to me and I found it in the mail when we got back from our Honeymoon! I quickly mailed it in!

I have been pretty stressed at work lately so the evening filled with laughs and then Sam taking me to DQ for a small sunday split blizzard was very relaxing and helped calm some of the nerves!  I also found the following verses:

2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.” 3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.  Psalm 126:2-3

God wants us to have a great time and not get so bogged down in the little things. He HAS done amazing things for us to be filled with joy!

Do you have any funny marriage license stories?

Have you been filled with joy recently?
